Job Description
The Assistant to the Executive Director (ED) primarily supports CEED's efforts to recruit and retain students in the College of Engineering. More specifically, enhancing the yield of underrepresented and underserved students offered admission to the College of Engineering, providing technical and clerical support for the implementation of programs to increase retention of those students, and overseeing CEED marketing and social media.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in management or a related field with experience that may equate to a graduate degree; administrative support experience in an academic or professional office environment. Experience with software such as Qualtrics, Publisher, Photoshop, and MS Office. Experience administrating social media. Ability to work independently on simultaneous multiple projects. Ability to interpret office policies and procedures as they apply to situations requiring immediate decisions. Ability to maintain a high level of organization in an extremely high traffic office environment. Ability to work successfully with a wide range of professionals within a teamwork setting; experience in a management or supervisory role. Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships. Ability to prioritize and manage workload, meet objectives and deadlines, make independent decisions, and creatively solve problems.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with video editing, photography and databases such as Banner and HokieMart. Familiarity with VT software such as Banner, HokieSPA and SLATE. Masters degree in a related field.
